You can now run wholesale and retail from the same Sellerlane store. B2B is live on the Scale plan: companies buy on their own catalogs, prices and payment terms, and your retail storefront keeps working exactly as before.
Here is what shipped.
Companies, locations and buyers
Create a company with one or more locations, each with its own saved shipping and billing address. Invite buyers by email — the full invitation lifecycle is handled for you. A buyer’s company purchases stay separate from their personal shopping.
Catalogs with real wholesale pricing
Assign catalogs to a company or to an individual location. A catalog controls which products and collections its buyers can see and buy, and what they pay:
- Fixed wholesale prices per product or variant
- Quantity minimums, maximums and case-pack increments
- Volume breaks that lower the price at higher quantities
Search, filters and recommendations all respect the buyer’s catalog, so buyers only discover what they are allowed to purchase.
Payment terms and credit limits
Choose how each location pays: pay now, Net 7/15/30/45/60/90, or due on fulfillment. Deferred terms come with a credit limit — a hard cap on the outstanding balance — or an explicitly acknowledged unlimited balance. Buyers see their invoices and balances and can pay from their account.
Purchase orders and merchant review
Collect a PO number at checkout, optional or required per location. Orders can submit automatically, or every company order can land with you as a draft to review — approve, edit or decline before anything is charged or fulfilled.
Tax exemption, per location
Mark a company location tax-exempt and checkout, invoices and reports all respect it. Because exemption is owned by the location, one company can mix exempt and non-exempt sites.
One shipping engine
Company orders use your existing shipping rates, methods, pickup options and instructions, resolved against the company location’s address. There is no second B2B shipping setup to configure or keep in sync.
Bring a customer’s history with them
When a long-standing customer becomes a company buyer, you can associate their existing order history with their company location. The original orders don’t change — but the relationship is finally in one place. Shopify’s B2B cannot attach past orders to a company retroactively.
Your retail store stays untouched
B2B is additive. Retail shoppers see the same storefront, prices and checkout as before, and personal discounts and loyalty never bleed into company purchases.
