Staff accounts & permissions
Invite your team and control exactly what each person can see and do in staff accounts & permissions.
Your Sellerlane account is the login you use to open your admin and run your store. It’s tied to a single email address, and you sign in with that email and a password. This page covers how sign-in works, how to recover access if you’re locked out, the difference between the store owner and staff, and what’s real today versus what’s still coming.
Seller sign-in uses email and password. There’s no one-time code (OTP) or social login on the admin side — just the email you signed up with and the password you set.
Go to the Sellerlane login page and enter your email address.
Enter your password and select Log In.
You land in your admin. If you belong to more than one store, you’ll pick which store to open.
Your session is kept alive in the background, so you usually stay signed in across visits without re-entering your password every time. When you’re done, use Sign Out to end the session.
Your account is identified by one email address — the one you signed up with (or, for staff, the address you were invited at). That email is your username for sign-in, where password-reset and verification messages are sent, and how you’re matched to a store’s team.
Because the email is your identity, there’s no separate “change my email” self-service flow today. If a teammate needs to move to a different address, the store owner re-invites them at the new email (see staff accounts & permissions).
When you first create a Sellerlane account, we email you a verification link. You must verify your email before you can sign in — until you do, sign-in is blocked with a “Please verify your email before signing in” message.
When you set or reset a password, it must:
Use a long, unique passphrase you don’t reuse anywhere else, and store it in a password manager. A strong password is your single most important account protection today (see What’s not available yet below).
If you can’t sign in, the fix depends on the problem.
On the login screen, select Forgot Password.
Enter the email address on your account and submit.
If an account exists for that email, we send a password-reset link. Open it and choose a new password (it must meet the requirements above).
Save the new password, then sign in with it.
A few things to know:
There’s the person who created the store and the team they add.
Staff are managed from Settings → Users & Permissions (the /users area of
your store). When you invite a teammate by email:
Because each person has their own login, you can give precise, least-privilege access and remove someone instantly when they leave — without disturbing anyone else’s sign-in. The full role and permission model, the eleven access-level presets, and how to invite, edit, and remove teammates are covered in staff accounts & permissions.
To set honest expectations, a few security controls you might expect from other platforms are not functional today, even if you spot UI for them:
