Once your catalogue grows, editing products one at a time gets slow. Sellerlane gives you two tools for managing products at scale: a spreadsheet-style bulk editor where you change prices, status, inventory and more across many products in one grid, and a CSV export that turns any selection of products into a downloadable file.
Both tools start from the product list at Products in the store sidebar. The toolbar above the list lets you narrow the catalogue down before you act on it.
Tick the checkbox on each product row to build a selection. When at least one product is selected, a dark action bar appears with the bulk actions. The bar notes that your selection applies to this page — selection does not carry across pages of the list, so set your page filters first.
Bulk edit opens a full-screen, spreadsheet-style grid where each cell is directly editable. You can reach it two ways:
For a chosen set — select products in the list, then choose Bulk edit from the action bar. The editor opens locked to exactly those products, with the header showing the count of selected products.
For the whole store — open Bulk edit without a selection. The editor loads products from your store, and you can use its own search box and the rows selector (25, 50, or 100 rows) plus Apply to control what loads.
Each row is a product, and ticking Show variants expands variant rows beneath each product so per-variant fields become editable. Columns are grouped, and you choose which are visible from the Columns menu. The groups are:
| Group | Example fields you can edit inline |
|---|---|
| General | Product title, variant title, description, tags, product category, product type, vendor |
| Publishing | Status (Draft / Active / Scheduled), Online and POS sales channels |
| Pricing | Price, sale price, MSRP, cost, bulk pricing tiers |
| Inventory | Quantity, track quantity, backorder allowed, safety stock |
| Shipping | Weight, country of origin, HS code |
| SEO | Meta title, meta description, URL handle |
| Metafields & Category metafields | Your defined product metafields |
There is also a Sellerlane column group — but it shows read-only summaries of digital delivery, event booking, bundle components and product modifiers, not editable fields. To change those, open the product in the full editor.
Edited cells are tracked as you go. The Save changes button stays disabled until you have unsaved edits, then enables so you can write them all in one go.
Edit cells across as many rows as you need. There is no per-row save — changes accumulate.
Click Save changes. Sellerlane saves product by product.
On success you see a “Bulk edit saved” confirmation with the number of products updated, and the grid reloads with fresh data.
If some products fail validation, the rest still save. A warning lists the first few failures, and only the failed products stay marked as unsaved so you can fix and retry them.
The Google edit action (and the Product fields / Variant fields toggle inside the editor) opens the same grid pre-filtered to the columns that matter for Google Shopping and Merchant Center feeds — identifiers like GTIN and MPN, the mapped Google category, images, price and description. A readiness panel flags products that are missing required listing data. See Pixels and tracking and Search and discovery for how this data is used.
Export turns your current selection into a downloadable spreadsheet — handy for reporting, sharing a price list, or reconciling stock outside the admin.
In the product list, select the products you want. Export works on your selection, so use the filters and status tabs to scope it first.
Choose Export CSV from the action bar (or the Actions menu on mobile).
Your browser downloads a file named products-selected-YYYY-MM-DD.csv for the
current date. You will see a “Selected products exported” confirmation.
If you click Export CSV with nothing selected, Sellerlane prompts you to Select products to export rather than exporting the whole catalogue.
The export is a flat, one-row-per-product file with these columns:
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| ID | The internal product ID |
| Name | Product name |
| Type | Product type (Physical, Digital, Gift card, Event, Bundle) |
| Status | Draft, Active, or Scheduled |
| SKU | The product SKU, or each variant SKU joined together |
| Brand | Vendor / brand name |
| Category | Product category |
| User type | Your custom product type |
| Price | The price range across variants, in your store currency |
| Inventory | Total tracked inventory count |
| Online | Yes / No — whether the online store channel is enabled |
| POS | Yes / No — whether point of sale is enabled |
| Updated at | Last-modified timestamp |
