Leaving a review

After you buy from a store, it may invite you to review what you bought. This page explains how that works.

The review invitation

  1. A store that collects reviews sends one email per order covering everything you’re eligible to review, with a card for each item.
  2. You tap through to a secure review page — no sign-in needed, the link itself is your pass. This page is a system page, so it works even if the store’s own design is having problems.
  3. You leave your rating and words, and can add photos or a video right there.

When invitations arrive

By default a store asks about 7 days after your order is fulfilled. Stores that track delivery may switch to a few days after it’s delivered, and digital products are timed from when your download is ready. If you don’t respond, you get one reminder, and then it stops.

Invitation links stay valid for 90 days. An expired or unsubscribed link shows a friendly “this link has expired” message, never an error.

Verified-buyer reviews

A review left through the emailed link is marked verified buyer only while its linked order is a genuine paid, non-test, non-canceled purchase and the line remains eligible. A review from a product page is unverified unless Sellerlane can match the same purchase facts. A normal refund does not pretend the purchase never happened, but cancellation, voiding, an unpaid/test order, or a fully canceled linked line removes the badge. If a store offers a reward for reviewing, it’s paid only after current purchase, moderation, and media checks; it is disclosed before submission and cannot depend on a positive rating.

You can leave one review per item per order — further attempts on the same item are declined.

Photos and videos

Adding a photo or video is part of leaving the review, offered right after you submit. If a store offers a reward for adding media, it may send you one gentle reminder a few days later to add a photo to a review you left as text only.

One-tap star ratings

If a store turns it on, the invitation email lets you tap a star rating right in your inbox, which pre-selects that rating on the review page. You still finish on the page — a tap in the email alone doesn’t post a review.

Editing or deleting your review

You can edit or delete your review using the link in your email for 30 days. If you edit a review that’s already published, it may go back through the store’s approval/moderation before reappearing, depending on the store’s settings. An unused reward can be revoked while the changed review is re-evaluated. Deletion removes public and identifying content but keeps a privacy-scrubbed audit record so used or revoked rewards are not silently rewritten.

The public reviews page

Many stores have a public page at /reviews showing all their reviews. It’s read-only — you leave reviews through the invitation link or a product page, not there. If a store has turned reviews off, the page shows a friendly not-found message.
